Tambunan, 6Th. September 2009 (Sunday):-
More than 20 peoples categorised as poor, widows, orphans, disabled received sadaqa, food and clothings from Muslims and muslimah donors through Janis Abdullah the editor of: www.jjamarchon.blogspot.com . Donors came from all over upon reading the blog seeking and appealing for donations to be given to the needy. Some donors came from far and some are locally based who are generous enough to give sadaqa to the needy especially during the blessed month of Ramadhan.
"It doesn't matter how much donations that donors gave to us. All we can do is redistribute all the sadaqa (donations) to the poor, widows and disabled during Ramadhan in order to fulfill the wishes of donors", said Janis Abdullah who is the USIA Chairman of Patau.
"Visiting them once a year is not enough. Many of them are really poor and in need of help from donors. We can only meet them once or twice a year that is during Ramadhan due to our own limitations. Many of us (NGOs) are financially weak and not equipped to visit our Muslims and muslimats at the interior part of Sabah. We need four-wheel drive transport to reach there. It is not only very far but the road condition is very-very bad. Each time we visited them, we must send our transport to the workshop for some repair. These are some of the sacrifices that we undertake as volunteers", said Janis.
