MEMBINA KASATUAN SIKAP DALAM MENGHADAPI CABARAN SEMASA TERHADAP ISLAM DI MALAYSIA

Tajuk ini diberikan kepada saya. Saya tidak memindanya, tetapi saya cuba memadankannya dengan apa yang saya hendak katakan.

Saya telah banyak kali menulis atau berucap mengenai perpaduan orang Melayu/ Islam di Malaysia semenjak bulan April 2014 apabila tersiarnya dan menjadi viralnya rencana yang saya tulis di Bilik Cempaka, Wad 28, Hospital Kuala Lumpur sehingga kepada ucapan saya di Majlis Penganugerahan Tokoh Ma’al Hijrah dalam bulan Oktober 2015. (Kesemuanya boleh didapati dalam laman web saya). Hari ini saya akan memberi ringkasan point-point saya dan mengembangkannya untuk menjadi asas penyatuan sikap semua pihak yang terlibat untuk mencapai tujuan itu.

Dalam konteks Malaysia, Melayu dan Islam adalah synonymous. Apa yang menguntungkan orang Melayu menguntungkan orang Islam. Apa yang merugikan orang Melayu merugikan orang Islam. Demikianlah sebaliknya. Maka, apabila saya menggunakan salah satu perkataan tersebut, mengikut konteknya, ia juga akan meliputi yang lainnya. Kemuncak perpaduan orang Melayu adalah dalam tahun 1946. Pada masa itu orang Melayu bersatu padu menentang Malayan Union. Orang Melayu bersatu padu menentang ancaman pengganas Kominis. Orang Melayu juga bersatu padu dalam pejuangan menuntut kemerdekaan. Walaupun pada masa itu orang Melayu sudah berpecah kepada tiga buah parti politik nasional iaitu UMNO, Parti Negara dan PAS, semuanya sekata dalam menuntut kemerdekaan.

Dalam tahun 1963, Konfrontasi Sukarno dan, dalam tahun 1965, Malaysian Malaysia Lee Kuan Yew telah menyatupadukan orang Melayu. Dalam tahun 1969, peristiwa 13 Mei telah sekali lagi merapatkan perpaduan orang Melayu. Satu “common factor” dalam keadaan-keadaan itu ialah orang Melayu/Islam merasakan bahawa mereka berhadapan dengan ancaman dari luar.

Selepas 1969, negara menjadi lebih aman dan tenteram, kemajuan dan kamakmuran telah mula dirasai, kampung telah bertukar wajah, hampir semua rumah sudah mempunyai kereta dan banyak pula yang telah mempunyai anak yang berkelulusan atau berada di universiti, hampir kesemuanya atas biasiswa kerajaan persekutuan, kerajaan yang diterajui oleh UMNO dan BN, satu faktor yang kerapkali tidak diambil hirau (“taken for granted.”)

Dalam keadaan itu, anak-anak muda itu mula lupa asal usul mereka, mereka telah lupa bahawa mereka baru keluar dari kampung satu atau dua generasi, malah ada yang merasakan bahawa peruntukan-peruntukan perlembagaan dan dasar yang mengubah nasib mereka itu sudah tidak perlu lagi. Ada pula yang terlalu taksub dengan sesuatu yang bersifat kearaban, tanpa dapat membezakan di antara Arab dan Islam, Shari’ah dan budaya, fakta dan pandangan.

Pemimpin-pemimpin Melayu dalam UMNO telah menjadi leka dan sombong dengan kuasa dan kekayaan. Mereka merasakan bahawa UMNO akan kekal sebagai parti pemerintah buat selama-lamanya. Mereka cemburu jika ada muka-muka baru yang akan menandingi mereka. Maka UMNO menjadi ketandusan pemimpin dan reput dari dalam. Rakyat hilang kepercayaan terhadap UMNO.

Orang Melayu yang berada di luar UMNO, antaranya kerana tidak mendapat tempat dalam UMNO, mula nampak bayangan kekayaan jika berkuasa. Maka, PKR mahu berkuasa tidak kira dengan apa juga caranya dan tidak kira apa yang akan terjadi kepada bangsa, agama dan negara. PAS, terutama sekali golongan “bukan ulamak” seperti jurutera dan doktor yang menyertai PAS kerana kesukaran memecah banteng hierarchy  UMNO, juga telah mula nampak kemewahan yang boleh didapati melalui kuasa pemerintahan. Kedua-dua parti itu sedar bahawa mereka tidak boleh berkuasa di peringkat persekutuan tanpa sokongan parti orang bukan Melayu dan parti itu adalah DAP. DAP dan orang Cina telah nampak peluang untuk memperalatkan orang Melayu untuk memperkuatkan kedudukan mereka, dan sekali gus melemahkan kedudukan orang Melayu.

Orang Melayu dalam PKR seolah-olah tidak kisah manakala orang PAS seolah-olah tidak dapat membaca keadaan itu. PAS berfikir dengan mentality Kelantan. Mereka lupa bahawa paratusan orang bukan Melayu di negeri lain dan di Malaysia adalah jauh lebih banyak daripada di Kelantan; bahawa orang Cina di Kelantan berlainan daripada orang Cina di negeri-negeri lain (sebab bilangan mereka kecil); bahawa di Kelantan, pada hakikatnya, hanya ada UMNO dan PAS, kedua-duanya Melayu dan Islam (walaupun pada suatu masa PAS menidakkan keislaman UMNO, sekarang nampaknya tidak lagi, Alhamdulillah) dan bahawa mentality pemimpin UMNO dan PAS Kelantan adalah sama, ia itu mentalili “Kelantan adalah Kelantan” dan “Kelantan dahulu”. Semasa berkempen di Kelantan, pemimpin-pemimpin UMNO pun memakai kopiah putih! Maka, sama ada Kelantan diperintah oleh BN atau pembangkang tidak ada beza kesannya kepada orang Melayu/Islam. Selain daripada itu pemimpin-pemimpin PAS itu juga telah mula khayal dengan impian Putrajaya, pusat pemerintahan negara yang, sebelumnya, hendak dilelongnya, jika menang pilihanraya. Maka berlakulah kesepakatan di antara PKR, PAS dan DAP.

Saya telah berkata beberapa kali dan saya ulangi bahawa, hari ini, orang Melayu/Islam di Malaysia sedang menghadapi “ancaman luar” yang paling serious dalam sejarah. Malangnya, berlainan daripada di masa-masa lepas, orang Melayu tidak menyedarinya. Saya telah berkata beberapa kali dan saya ulangi bahawa jika pakatan pembangkang berjaya menubuhkan kerajaan di peringkat persekutuan, parti yang akan menjadi tunggak (dominant) pakatan itu ialah DAP, bukan PKR dan bukan PAS; bahawa PKR atau PAS tidak akan dapat mengawal cita-cita DAP seperti UMNO berjaya mengawal cita-cita MCA dan Gerakan semenjak Merdeka dan bahawa satu perkara yang pasti berlaku jika pakatan pembangkang menang di peringkat persekutuan ialah, hak, kepentingan dan dedudukan orang Melayu dan Islam akan berkurangan. Sebab, orang-orang Cina meninggalkan MCA dan Gerakan dan menyokong DAP sebab mereka mahu lebih daripada apa yang telah mereka perolehi melalui MCA dan Gerakan. Dari mana “yang lebih” itu akan datang jika tidak daripada orang Melayu? Takkanlah itu pun orang Melayu tidak boleh fikir?

Tetapi Alhamdulillah, perubahan telah mula ternampak. PAS telah menyingkirkan golongan “Mat Sabu”. Pakatan antara PAS dengan DAP nampaknya telah berkecai. Pakatan dengan PKR pun nampaknya semakin renggang. Presiden UMNO, Dato’ Seri Mohd. Najib dan Presiden PAS, Dato’ Abdul Hadi Awang telah sama-sama menghadiri majlis yang sama dan berucap di majlis yang sama, Dato’ Seri Najib telah secara terbuka menghulurkan tangan kepada PAS untuk berkerjasama malah ahli-ahli panel dalam muktamar ini pun terdiri daripada pemimpin-pemimpin UMNO dan PAS.

Nampaknya, kedua-dua pihak telah berada di garisan yang sama untuk memulakan perjalanan. Sekarang kita perlu lihat apa halangan yang ada dan bersama-sama bersedia untuk untuk mengatasinya.

Bagi saya, yang pertama sekali, orang Melayu perlu berfikir. Fikir, bukan rasa, bukan ingat. Kita hendaklah bermula dengan menggunakan perkataan “fikir” sebagai kata kerja “Saya fikir” (seperti kita kata “I think” apabila bercakap dalam bahasa Inggeris), bukan “Saya rasa” atau “Saya ingat”, akhirnya tiada siapa yang fikir berkenaan isu semasa dalam konteks Malaysia hari ini dan membuat keputusan yang bersesuaian dengan keadaan hari ini. Saya percaya ada sebabnya mengapa Allah s.w.t. mengulangi ayat “Afalaata’qiluun” sebanyak 13 kali dalam Al-Qur’an. Mungkin ada pakar-pakar Al-Quran dalam muktamar ini yang boleh memberi pencerahan kepada kita. Dalam konteks tertentu, perkataan “rasa” dan “ingat” memang sesuai digunakan.

Kedua, orang Melayu hendaklah membuang sifat hasad dengki sesama sendiri dan pada masa yang sama terlalu sensitif terhadap perasaan orang bukan Melayu sehingga orang bukan Melayu tidak perlu sensitif terhahap perasaan orang Melayu. Ditepuk belakang dan dipuji sedikit, ada “ustaz-ustaz” yang sanggup menyamakan pemimpin bukan Islam sekutu mereka sebagai “Khalifah Umar Ibni Abdul Aziz”, menyibar cerita beliau akan memeluk agama Islam, malah mengangkat tangan mendoakannya! Mentaliti itu hendaklah dikikis dari jiwa orang Melayu. Kita mesti ada harga diri.

Ketiga, orang Melayu perlu menumpukan fikiran dan tenaganya terhadap isu-isu pokok, bukan yang remeh-temeh. Di awal abad ke 20, orang Melayu di Pulau Pinang berpecah dua dan bermusuhan kerana permainan borea, satu kumpulan terkenal dengan “Bendera Merah” dan satu lagi “Bendera Putih”. Mereka bergaduh atas nama bendera mereka. Dalam tahun 1950an, orang Kelantan heboh dengan masalah hukum air liur anjing, hingga satu muzakarah besar diadakan yang menemukan ulamak-ulamak lulusan Al-Azhar dan Timur Tengah (yang dikenali sebagai “Kaum Tua”) dengan graduan-graduan Darul Uloom Deoband, India, termasuk Dr. Burhanuddin Al-Helmi (yang dikenali sebagai “Kaum Muda”). Dalam tahun 1970an dan 1980an, umat Islam, terutama sekali di Pantai Timur Semenanjung Malaysia berdepan pula dengan isu pengkafiran, dua Imam, pengharaman daging sembelihan dan lain-lain kerana berada dalam parti politik yang berlainan. Dan seterusnya.

Kempat, orang Melayu mesti sedar bahawa isu pokok yang menghadapi mereka sekarang ialah untuk menyelamat kerajaan persekutuan yang diterajui oleh UMNO demi untuk mempertahankan kedudukan agama Islam dan hak-hak keistimewaan orang Melayu. Yang lainnya adalah secondary. Hudud bukanlah isu pokok sekarang. Hudud bukanlah satu-satunya ukuran keislaman sesebuah negara. Ia hanyalah satu jenis hukuman bagi kesalahan jenayah. Tidak ada sebuah parti politik di dunia ini yang wujud semata-mata untuk memperjuangkan pelaksanaan satu jenis hukuman jenayah. Biar apa pun, kerajaan persekutuan yang diterajui oleh UMNO adalah gandingan yang terbaik untuk pelaksanaan hudud, bukan pakatan pembangkang yang diterajui oleh DAP. Itu PAS perlu sedar dan terangkan kepada ahli-ahlinya.

Kelima, dengan berkerjasama di peringkat kerajaan, PAS boleh kekal sebagai PAS dan UMNO boleh kekal sebagai UMNO. Malah PAS akan dapat menyertai kerajaan persekutuan. Mungkin ada pemimpin-pemimpin pertengahan dalam UMNO yang takut kehilangan peluang menjawat jawatan dalam kerajaan persekutuan, kepada PAS. Mereka perlu fikir, mereka mahu hilang sedikit atau hilang semua? Mereka perlu bertanya diri mereka sendiri untuk apa mereka menyertai UMNO? Adakah untuk kepentingan diri semata-mata?

Keenam, mengenai UMNO. Saya telah berkata dan saya ulangi, sebagai sebuah parti Melayu/Islam, UMNO berada di atas landasan yang betul. Masalahnya adalah pemimpin-pemimpinnya. Persepsi rasuah yang tinggi di kalangan mereka, isteri-isteri mereka yang berbelanja tidak sepadan dengan pendapatan rasmi suami mereka, menjatuhkan imej pemimpin-pemimpin UMNO di mata rakyat. Lebih menyedihkan ialah, dalam keadaan tenat yang UMNO berada sekarang, pada masa pemimpin-pemimpin UMNO sepatutnya mengukuhkan parti, mereka bercakaran sesama sendiri. Percayalah, semua itu adalah “alamat kiamat” sesebuah parti, jika keadaan itu tidak diperbetulkan segera.

Saya percaya jika kesemua pihak memberi perhatian serius kepada faktor-faktor yang saya sebut itu dan berusaha dengan ikhlas kearah perpaduan dan/atau kerjasama, demi untuk menyelamatkan agama, bangsa dan negara, insya Allah ia akan tercapai.

Ada orang berkata kepada saya, setelah membaca rencana-rencana saya dia mengambil keputusan untuk mengundi BN dalam Pilihanraya Umum yang akan datang. Tetapi, masalahnya dia tidak sukakan pemimpin tertentu. Pemimpin itu akan menganggap undinya itu adalah undi untuk beliau, sedangkan itu bukan tujuannya.

Saya akui itu adalah satu dilema. Tetapi, dalam keadaan yang kita hadapi sekarang, kita perlu memberi tumpuan kepada ummah, bukan pemimpin. Pemimpin datang dan pergi, ummah kekal. Ummah menentukan siapa pemimpin, bukan sebaliknya. Tidak ada sesiapa yang lebih besar dari ummah, melainkan seorang Rasul. Seorang pemimpin yang berjiwa besar juga sepatutnya tahu bila dia patut berundur. Pertimbangannya ialah apabila dia sudah hilang credibility dan menjadi liability kepada parti dan demi kepentingan agama, bangsa dan negara, bukan kepentingan diri. Maka, kita janganlah bakar kapal kerana tidak sukakan nakhoda. Nakhoda janganlah membakar kapal kerana tidak mahu melepaskan jawatan. Dan, janganlah ada pula orang yang kerana hendak sangat menjadi nakhoda, hingga sanggup membakar kapal. 

Setakat ini, dalam ucapan ini, saya tumpukan kepada kerjasama antara UMNO dan PAS di peringgkat persekutuan. Sekarang saya akan mengembangkan lingkarannya. Sebenarnya, jika kerjasama itu di antara UMNO (BN) dan PAS sahaja pun, ia boleh dikembangkan ke negeri-negeri. Jika demikian, Kelantan, Trengganu, Pahang, Perak, Kedah, Perlis, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka dan Johor akan selamat.

Saya tidak menyebut PKR kerana saya tidak nampak PKR, sebagai sebuah parti, pada masa ini, boleh menyertai kerjasama ini. Lagi pula PKR tidak pernah berkata ia memperjuangkan hak orang Melayu. Ia cuma memperjuangkan hak seorang Melayu, itu pun jika orang itu masih menganggap fakta Melayunya itu masih relevan. Walau bagaimana pun, saya minta pemimpin-pemimpin dan penyokong-penyokong PKR supaya bertanya diri mereka sendiri: mereka berjuang untuk apa? Jika untuk mencapai keadilan kepada pemimpin agung mereka, sebenarnya tidak ada ketidakadilan dilakukan terhadapnya. Dia sahaja yang melaungkan ketidakadilan setiap kali mahkamah membuat keputusan yang tidak memihak kepadanya. Jika keputusan itu memihak kepadanya, dia diam. Saya ingin bertanya: siapa yang lebih layak untuk membuat kenyataan ini daripada saya?

Sebenarnya, perjuangan mereka hanya untuk mendapat kuasa tidak kira apa akibatnya kepada hak, kepentingan dan kedudukan bangsa Malayu dan umat Islam. Tidakkah sudah tiba masanya untuk pemimpin-pemimpin Melayu/Islam PKR berfikir semula dan mengubah pendirian mereka demi untuk mempertahankan hak, kepentingan dan kedudukan orang Melayu/Islam seperti yang diperuntukkan dalam Perlembagaan?

Demikian juga NGO-NGO Melayu/Islam. Merka juga sepatutnya menyertai perpaduan ini untuk mencapai tujuan yang sama. Pada masa yang sama, mereka patut bergabung sesama sendiri, mengurangkan bilangan, menambahkan keahlian dan memperkuatkan kedudukan, bukan masing-masing hanya menjaga periuk nasi sendiri, satu tabiat yang perlu dikikis daripada jiwa orang Melayu.

Sebenarnya, tidak ada apa-apa perbezaan prinsip atau ideology di antara semua kempulan-kumpulan Melayu/Islam, baik parti politik atau NGO, yang boleh menjadi halangan kepada perpaduan atau kerjasama di antara mereka. “Halangan” yang ada hanyalah kepentingan diri: takut hilang pendapatan, jawatan dan kedudukan atau takut tidak berpeluang mendapatnya. Sanggupkah mereka berjiwa besar dan mengenepikan “halangan” itu?

Akhir kata, anak-anak negeri Sabah dan Sarawak juga patut sedar bahawa kedudukan mereka dalam Perlembagaan adalah serupa dengan kedudukan orang Melayu. Jika mereka mahu kedudukan mereka selamat, mereka hendaklah bersama-sama orang Melayu, UMNO dan BN. Bahawa sebahagian daripada mereka beragama Kristian tidak pernah menjadi masalah. Mereka boleh terus mengamalkan agama mereka seperti biasa. Kita bantah penggunaan kalimah “Allah” dalam bible dan upacara agama dalam Bahasa Melayu, terutama sekali di Semenanjung, kerana motifnya adalah untuk mempengaruhi orang Melayu menganut agama Kristian setelah mereka gagal berbuat demikian selama 500 tahun. 

Kita bukan hendak meminggir mana-mana kaum. Kita hanya hendak mempertahankan peruntukan-peruntukan Perlembagaan yang sedia ada. Malah, semua kaum sepatutnya bersama-sama mempertahankan Perlembagaan kerana hanya dengan cara itu perpaduan, harmoni, ketenteraman, kemajuan dan kemakmuran akan dapat dikekalkan.

Saya telah berkata apa yang saya hendak katakan. Terserahlah kepada pemimpin-pemimpin dan orang Melayu/Islam sama ada hendak menerima pandangan saya atau tidak. Soalnya, apakah yang mereka lebih utamakan, kepentingan diri atau ummah?

MIRACLES OF ZAM-ZAM WATER

Do you know the miracles of zamzam?

ZamZam water level is around 10.6 feet below the surface. It is the miracle of Allah that when Zam Zam was pumped continuously for more than 24 hours with a pumping rate of 8,000 liters per second, water level dropped to almost 44 feet below the surface,

BUT WHEN THE PUMPING WAS STOPPED, the level immediately elevated again to 13 feet after 11 minutes. 8,000 liters per second means that 8,000 x 60 = 480,000 liters per minute 480,000 liters per minutes means that 480,000 x 60 = 28.8 Million liters per hour And 28.8 Million liters per hour means that 28,800,000 x 24 = 691.2 Million liters per day So they pumped 690 Millions liters of zamZam in 24 hours, but it was re-supplied in 11 minutes only.

There are 2 miracles here, the first that ZamZam was re filled immediately, & the second is that Allah Holds the extra-ordinarily powerful Aquifer for not throwing extra ZamZam out of the well, otherwise the world will SINK.

It is the translation of the word ZamZam, which means Stop! Stop!! said by Hajirah Alaih As Salaam.

Zamzam water has no colour or smell, but it has a distinct taste.

JESUS DALAM AL-QURAN

SOALAN: Apa Al-Quran kata mengenai Jesus?


JAWAPAN:

Al-Quran banyak memperkatakan mengenai Jesus (bahasa arab Isa). Al-Quran menyatakan tentang keajaiban kelahirannya, ajarannya, kenabiannya, kemukjizatannya dengan izin Allah. Dalam Al-Quran ada peringatan bahawa Jesus adalah manusia dan bukan tuhan atau anak tuhan. Berikut adalah sebahagian daripada petikan mengenai Jesus di dalam Al-Quran.


MULIA - ALI IMRAN 45-48


45. (ingatlah) ketika malaikat berkata: "Wahai Maryam! bahawasanya Allah memberikan khabar Yang mengembirakanmu, Dengan (mengurniakan seorang anak Yang Engkau akan kandungkan semata-mata dengan) kalimah daripada Allah, nama anak itu: Al-Masih, Isa Ibni Maryam, seorang Yang terkemuka di dunia dan di akhirat, dan ia juga dari orang-orang Yang didampingkan (diberi kemuliaan di sisi Allah).

46. "Dan ia akan berkata-kata kepada orang ramai semasa ia masih kecil Dalam buaian, dan semasa ia dewasa, dan ia adalah dari orang-orang Yang soleh.

47. Maryam berkata:" Wahai Tuhanku! Bagaimanakah Aku akan beroleh seorang anak, padahal Aku tidak pernah disentuh oleh seorang lelaki pun?" Allah berfirman; "Demikianlah keadaannya, Allah menjadikan apa Yang dikehendakiNya; apabila ia berkehendak melaksanakan sesuatu perkara, maka ia hanyalah berfirman kepadanya: ` Jadilah Engkau ', lalu menjadilah ia."

48. dan Allah akan mengajarnya ilmu menulis, dan hukum-hukum aturan ugama, dan juga kandungan Kitab-kitab Taurat dan Injil.

SEORANG NABI - MARYAM 30-35

30. ia menjawab:" Sesungguhnya Aku ini hamba Allah; ia telah memberikan kepadaKu Kitab (Injil), dan ia telah menjadikan daku seorang Nabi.

31. dan ia menjadikan daku seorang Yang berkat di mana sahaja Aku berada, dan diperintahkan daku mengerjakan sembahyang dan memberi zakat selagi Aku hidup.

32. " serta (diperintahkan daku) taat dan berbuat baik kepada ibuku, dan ia tidak menjadikan daku seorang Yang sombong takbur atau derhaka.

33. dan Segala keselamatan serta kesejahteraan dilimpahkan kepadaKu pada hari Aku diperanakkan dan pada hari Aku mati, serta pada hari Aku dibangkitkan hidup semula (pada hari kiamat)".

34. Yang demikian sifat-sifatnya itulah Isa Ibni Maryam. keterangan Yang tersebut ialah keterangan Yang sebenar-benarnya, Yang mereka ragu-ragu dan berselisihan padanya.

35. tiadalah layak bagi Allah mempunyai anak. Maha Sucilah ia. apabila menetapkan jadinya sesuatu perkara, maka hanyalah ia berfirman kepadanya: "Jadilah engkau", lalu menjadilah ia.

PESURUH ALLAH - AL-MAAIDAH 116-117

116. dan (ingatlah) ketika Allah berfirman: "Wahai Isa Ibni Maryam! Engkaukah Yang berkata kepada manusia: `Jadikanlah daku dan ibuku dua Tuhan selain dari Allah? UCAPAN TERAKHIR GADDAFFI

GADDAFFI'S LAST FORMAL SPEECH: THIS IS VERY MOVING:

In the name of Allah, the ...beneficent, the merciful...For 40 years, or was it longer, I can't remember, I did all I could to give people houses, hospitals, schools, and when they were hungry, I gave them food. I even made Benghazi into farmland from the desert, I stood up to attacks from that cowboy Ronald Reagan, when he killed my adopted orphaned daughter, he was trying to kill me, instead he killed that poor innocent child. Then I helped my brothers and sisters from Africa with money for the African Union.

I did all I could to help people Understand the concept of real democracy, where people's committees ran our country. But that was never enough, as some told me, even people who had 10 room homes, new suits and furniture, were never satisfied, as selfish as they were they wanted more. They told Americans and other visitors, that they needed "democracy" and "freedom" never realizing it was a cut throat system, where the biggest dog eats the rest, but they were enchanted with those words, never realizing that in America, there was no free medicine, no free hospitals, no free housing, no free education and no free food, except when people had to beg or go to long lines to get soup.

No, no matter what I did, it was never enough for some, but for others, they knew I was the son of Gamal Abdel Nasser, the only true Arab and Muslim leader we've had since Salah-al-Deen, when he claimed the Suez Canal for his people, as I claimed Libya, for my people, it was his footsteps I tried to follow, to keep my people free from colonial domination - from thieves who would steal from us.

Now, I am under attack by the biggest force in military history, my little African son, Obama wants to kill me, to take away the freedom of our country, to take away our free housing, our free medicine, our free education, our free food, and replace it with American style thievery, called "capitalism" ,but all of us in the Third World know what that means, it means corporations run the countries, run the world, and the people suffer.

So, there is no alternative for me, I must make my stand, and if Allah wishes, I shall die by following His path, the path that has made our country rich with farmland, with food and health, and even allowed us to help our African and Arab brothers and sisters.

I do not wish to die, but if it comes to that, to save this land, my people, all the thousands who are all my children, then so be it.Let this testament be my voice to the world, that I stood up to crusader attacks of NATO, stood up to cruelty, stoop up to betrayal, stood up to the West and its colonialist ambitions, and that I stood with my African brothers, my true Arab and Muslim brothers, as a beacon of light.

When others were building castles, I lived in a modest house, and in a tent. I never forgot my youth in Sirte, I did not spend our national treasury foolishly, and like Salah-al-Deen, our great Muslim leader, who rescued Jerusalem for Islam, I took little for myself...

In the West, some have called me "mad", "crazy", but they know the truth yet continue to lie, they know that our land is independent and free, not in the colonial grip, that my vision, my path, is, and has been clear and for my people and that I will fight to my last breath to keep us free, may Allah almighty help us to remain faithful and free.

WESTERN COUNTRIES 'FAILURES' (KEGAGALAN NEGARA BARAT)

Negara-negara barat 'gagal' kata Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Betulkah negara barat gagal? Mahathir membuat komen ini dalam satu ceramah di Utara Malaysia baru-baru ini. Soalnya, apakah andaian ini betul? Sila baca tulisan ini yang saya petik dari MSN pada 31 Oktober 2011.

The outspoken former long-time leader, who is known as a fierce critic of the West, said countries like South Korea, Japan and China were "swimming in money", while Europe and the United States are mired in debt.

"Right now, there are so many problems with Western countries. The problem in the West is that they have borrowed too much and cannot repay. You cannot have that kind of a country as a model," Mahathir, 86, was quoted by the national news agency Bernama as saying.

"If you want to copy or learn something, learn from the successful people, not from the failures," he told an international conference on Islamic finance in northern Malaysia.

"So, we should continue to look to the East and not to the West. The West is going bankrupt," he said.

He attributed the debt crisis to greed.

"Greed will cause this. Today, we are seeing failed countries in the developed world," he added.

Mahathir ruled Malaysia for 22 years until 2003. During his tenure he introduced the "look east" policy to emulate work ethics and business techniques from Japan and South Korea.

Sabda Rasulullah S.A.W:

'Apabila seseorang lelaki itu mati dan saudaranya sibuk dengan pengebumiannya, berdiri lelaki kacak di bahagian kepalanya. Bila mayatnya dikapan, lelaki itu berada di antara kain kapan dan si mati. Selesai dikebumikan, semasa semua orang kembali ke rumah, Mungkar dan Nangkir, datang dalam kubur dan cuba memisahkan lelaki kacak ini supaya mereka boleh menyoal lelaki yang telah meninggal itu seorang diri mengenai ketaatannya kepada Allah. Tapi lelaki kacak itu berkata, dia adalah temanku, dia adalah kawanku. Aku takkan meninggalkannya seorang diri. Jika kamu ditetapkan untuk menyoal, lakukanlah tugasmu. Aku tidak boleh meninggalkannya sehingga aku dapati dia dimasukkan ke dalam syurga.'

Selepas itu dia berpaling pada temannya yang meninggal dan berkata,

'Aku adalah Al-Quran, yang kamu membacanya, kadang-kadang dengan suara yang nyaring dan kadang-kadang dengan suara yang perlahan. Jangan bimbang. Selepas soal siasat dari Mungkar dan Nangkir, kamu tidak akan bersedih.'

Selepas soal siasat selesai, lelaki kacak mengatur, untuknya malaikat dalam Syurga, tempat tidur dari sutera yang dipenuhi bauan kesturi

TRIBUTE TO MY LATE MOTHER

A STORY OF APPRECIATION
-
Once, there was a young man who applied for a managerial position in a multi-national company. He passed the first interview. The director did the final interview in order to make the last decision. The director discovered from the resume (CV), that the young man's academic results were excellent all the way, from the secondary school until completion of university.
-
The director asked, "Did you obtained any scholarship in school?"
-
The young man answered, "None".
-
The director asked again, " Did your father paid for your school fees?"
-
The young man answered, "My father passed away when I was a child. It was my mother who paid for all my school expenses".
-
The director asked, "Where did your mother worked?"
-
The young man answered, "My mother worked as a cloth cleaner".
-
The director requested him to show his hands. The young man showed a pair of smooth and perfect hands to the director.
-
The director asked, "Did you ever helped your mother washed the cloth before?"
-
The young man answered, "Never. My mother always wanted me to study and read more books, furthermore, my mother washes cloths better than me".
-
The director said, "I had a request, when you go back today, go and help clean your mother's hand and then see me tomorrow morning".
-
The young man felt that the chance of being hired for the job is high. Back home, the young man happily wanted to clean his mother's hand. Feeling stranged, his mother showed her hands to her son. While the young man was slowly cleaning his mother's hand, his tears dropped. This was the first time he saw his mother's hand wrinkled with bruises. Some bruises were painful that shivers her mother's body when cleaned with water. The young man realized that it was this pair of hand that washed the cloth everyday to pay for all the school expenses for all her children. The bruises paid for his graduation and academic excellence and probably his future. After finishing the cleaning, the young man quietly washed all remaining clothes that were left by his mother. That night, they had a long talk.

The next morning, the young man went to the director's office and the director noticed tears in the young man's eyes and asked, "Can you tell me what happened yesterday in your house?"
-
The young man answered, "I cleaned my mother's hands and also finished cleaning all the remaining clothes.
-
The director asked, "Can you tell what have you learned".
-
The young man said, "Firstly, I knew what is appreciation. Without my mother, I would not be successful today. Secondly, when I help my mother, I realized how difficult and tough to get something done. Finally, I realised the importance and value of family relationship".
-
The director said, "I want to recruit a manager that can appreciate the help of others that knew the sufferings of others and a person that would not put money as his only goal in life. Young man, you are hired!".
-
A child who has been protected and habitually given all that he wanted in life by his parent, he (the child) developed 'ungrateful mentality' and selfishness. All the while, this child was ignorant of his parent's efforts. He can have good exam results and be successful in life for a while, but eventually, he would not feel the sense of achievement. If we are this kind of parent, did we love the kid or destroy him? You can let your kid lived in a big house, eat good meals, watched big TV screen, but when you are cutting grass, please let them experienced it. After meals, let them washed their plates and bowls. It is not because we do not have money to hire maids but it is because we want to love them in a right way. Make them understand that no matter how rich their parents are, one day their hairs will turned gray and eventually will leave this world forever for good.

A few years later, the mother passed away. This young man, while reading the medical report, saw a doctor's comment that his mother's womb dropped. For the first time, his mother's medical secret was revealed. Later on, the young man found out that the main cause was, the mother did not adhere to the grace period of few months rest after each birth of her child. Being single mother, she cant afford to rest for she has to carry on with her daily job to earn a living in order to raise up her children. The mother's womb dropped because of excessive work. Her mother worked very hard to feed her children. The young man was unable to hold on to his tears streaming down.

In The Name Of God, the Most Gracious the Most Merciful.

Many of the paradigms previously employed to sustain negative judgments about Muhammad's person and mission have since given way to an objective acknowledgment of his position as a role model whose life holds special schematic value.
-
Muhammad as one who went from being an obscure seeker of truth to a proclaimer of the Divine message, the Prophet comes across as a remarkable endurer of unprovoked assaults on person, honor and belief. Moreover, Muhammad's qualities of perseverance, broadmindedness, and aplomb are reflected in his relations with other belief systems, especially Jews and Christians.

The establishment, in Medina under Muhammad, of a prosperous community governed by Divine law after the tribulations and persecutions experienced by the Prophet and his followers provides a teleological explanation of the concept of hijrah in Islam. But the one significant aspect of the Medinan phase of the Prophet's life is the Covenant of Medina, which represents the most viable constitution the world can have in a pluralistic setting. Pluralism differs from particularism. The former promotes a sense of equality rather toleration. The significance of the distinction is brought out in today's world, especially in societies where Muslims are victims of institutional oppression and negative stereotypes.

The true meaning of jihad is struggle against personal or societal injustice. This refutes, the exclusivist-and often mischievous-statement concept in purely aggressive and military terms. On the whole, the image of the Prophet is-rightly-that of the Perfect Man: a persevering caller to truth, a stoic optimist, a pluralistic leader who is humble in victory, courageous in defeat, firm in dispensation of justice, respectful of friend, sympathetic to opponent, and above all a spiritual leader of substance.

The emirate of Dubai is seeing waves of conversion to Islam over the last 14 years, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, according to a top official here.

Huda Al Kaabi, head of the New Muslims Section at the Islamic Affairs Department, said as many as 13,946 people, from 72 nationalities, have embraced Islam in Dubai over the period from 1996 to 2010. “These include 10,450 new Muslims from 2005 to 2009.”
-
People are touched by the merciful instructions of Islam which strictly orders its followers to be honest, fair and kind to all people, disregarding their religion, race, language and colour. “When people come to Dubai, they know better about the bright image of Islam, and how it tolerantly meets man’s needs in all places and times,” Kaabi said.

Prof Dr Lewis, one of the new Muslims, said his two PhDs in philosophy and education helped him evaluate Islam reasonably. “I am not convinced to do so because of a passionate idea or imitation, but due to my total heart and mind contentedness.”

Keeping silent over Israel's crimes: Western policy shaped by holocaust and religion

The German Chancellor's address to the American Congress last November gives an exact measure of why the Middle East question - with the Palestinian problem at its core - is in such deadlock. Reading the speech, one is struck by the somewhat glaring omission of any similarity between the Berlin Wall and the Israeli Wall: two very similar and comparable examples of brutal population segregation. One, the Soviet inspired and controlled Berlin Wall, had divided Germany for nearly half a century. The second and most pertinent, the Israeli Wall, divides what is left of the Palestinian territory (now 60% of the size that it occupied before the 1967 war) into isolated plots of land, condemning their inhabitants to permanent house arrest. In addition, just like "the Iron Curtain", humiliating police harassment and abuse leads to painful family separation. Loved ones are forced to live and work apart, separated by the "Wall" - the latest glaring symbol of repression. This should leave no-one indifferent, especially in Germany where the terrible suffering experienced by the populace as a result of the enforced separation created by the "Wall" is still a vivid memory.

The second point of note is that the paragraph devoted to human rights, and which advocates zero tolerance to any deliberate violation thereof, does not include any reference to the UN fact finding mission report on the Gaza conflict, released on 25 September 2009. It should have, since the report is extremely critical in every regard. The blockade of the Gaza Strip started in mid-2006 and caused extensive damage to the physical and mental health of the people of Gaza, in particular the women and children who, even now, suffer terrible ordeals as the blockade continues.

The air, sea and land attacks lasted from 27 December 2008 to 18 January 2009. The Israeli army used white phosphorous missiles, causing severe and sometimes untreatable burns, as well as depleted and non-depleted uranium shells. Hospitals, schools, mosques and shelters of terror-stricken civilians were targeted, leaving about 1,500 dead. These needless deaths cannot be categorized as collateral damage in the pursuit of military objectives, but rather as government sponsored murder. After a comprehensive and thoroughly detailed investigation, Justice Goldstone and his two colleagues drew the conclusion that extensive and highly deliberate human rights abuses had occurred, the mass civilian death toll adding up to a crime against humanity.

Arguably, the German Chancellor's speech is a good example of how Western countries, through their silence, give tacit approval to the Jewish State's repressive policy in the Palestinian occupied territories. As a case in point, the confinement and killings in Gaza did not give rise to the same emotional and indignant reactions as they would have if they had occurred elsewhere in the world. The reason is that Western countries are still brooding on the past, feeling guilty for not having prevented the Nazi-inspired holocaust. Thus, it follows that Western countries have based their Middle East policy on the myth that the past suffering of the Jewish people makes it quite impossible for them to resort to similar crimes. In addition, there is the US specificity, namely the existence in that country of a powerful fundamentalist trend strongly imbued with a word-for-word interpretation of the Old Testament, and thus with the firm belief in the return to the promised land of a people claiming to be chosen by God. This trend is sometimes called Christian Zionism.
-
Here, then, is the reason for the mobilization of the Jewish lobby and the friends of Israel throughout the world, not least of which are the western countries, whenever the myth is contradicted by facts. After the publication of the Goldstone report, a new harsher campaign was led against the Geneva-based UN Council for Human Rights, challenging the credibility of some of its members. Richard Goldstone, who is a South African of Jewish denomination, was not spared in spite of his moral stature. Justice Goldstone risked his life during apartheid by taking a strong stance against oppression and injustice. Last but not least, the US administration pressurized President Mahmoud Abbas to accept a six-month postponement of the debate on the Goldstone report, which he eventually did.

The Arab countries then took the initiative in submitting the matter to the UN Security Council, while fully aware that the US would use their veto against any resolution referring the case to the International Criminal Court (ICC). Moreover, the ICC can exercise jurisdiction only if the accused are nationals of a State party. Unfortunately, Israel does not qualify since it has not ratified the Rome Statute. It is abundantly clear then that the guilty, those behind and on the field alike, will escape justice and continue their brutality.

Islamophobia: another good reason for the West to feel closer to Israel

The strong prejudice in favour of Israel is also a side-effect of rampant Islamophobia in the West. In the US, the perception of Islam is moulded by Bernard Lewis. According to this British orientalist, the Muslim countries are angry and crave revenge because the West has overtaken them as the world's leading civilization.

In all instances since 9/11, the common denominator of the many analyses dealing with Islam has been oversimplification. The third monotheist religion is generally equated with Islamism and Jihad with terrorism. Islamism, for instance, is a political line conceptualized by Mawdudi (1903-1979) in Jihad in Islam, published in Urdu in 1927. This book caused quite a stir because of its appeal for violence to protect Islam from Western and Indian threats. Two of his most famous followers, Egyptians Hassan Al Banna (1906-1949) and Seyyid Qutb (1906-1966) focused their analyses on the Arab world. They were both convinced that the nationalist governments, which came to power in the region in the aftermath of the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, were not living up to the expectations of their people. Their main goal was to topple these governments and replace them with governments that abide by Islamic rule or Sharia.

Currently, this goal remains unchanged. The only difference is that the Islamists now try to achieve their goals by legal means, namely by entering the political arena in their respective countries. A small minority continues to act violently, and interacts with the Salafists or fundamentalists who want to revive Islam as it was at the time of the Prophet. By definition, therefore, Islamism is not Islam. It is, rather, the exploitation of religion for political ends.

Most importantly Jihad, as put forward by Mawdudi and perceived by American public opinion, is a gross misconception. It is not, as normally defined, an Islamic holy war against unbelievers. Jihad, in reality, is a commandment compelling the faithful to defend their religion against any threat and as self-defence, known as "major Jihad", against any temptation that could jeopardize their moral integrity. Far from being an offensive weapon targeting Western countries, this precept is exclusively defensive.

To a large extent, the Middle East policy of the Bush administration was shaped according to this prevailing oversimplification of Islam and Jihad. At its core lies preventive action, namely the negation and destruction of any potential threat. Its objectives were the imposition of democracy or a democratic value system and the "encouragement", forcibly or otherwise, of an Islamic adaptation to secular and modern standards. We all know the disaster engendered by this policy in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The current US president should be given credit for the conciliatory speech delivered in Cairo. But President Obama's good intentions should be followed up by a concerted effort to create a less biased trend against Islam and Muslims in "the hearts and minds" of the American public. So far, it does not seem that things are moving in the right direction. The neo-conservatives still wield a great deal of influence. The teaching of the Arab language and Islamic civilization is given a low priority in the US education system. In all likelihood, the American public for the foreseeable future will continue to believe in the inevitable clash with the Islamic world. Predictably, any progress will continue to be stalled by strict adherence to the same old rhetoric.

Islamophobia in Europe is rampant and endemic from one generation to the other. It is rising dramatically due to the presence of significant Moslem minorities. It is now claimed, justified and exploited by some political parties and famous opinion shapers. The racial ranting of Oriana Fallaci or Michel Houellebeq and the outrageous drawings of a Danish sensationalist are prime examples of how Islam is perceived. Their significance should not be minimized by their correspondence to similar sentiments expressed at a lecture given at the Ratisbonne in 2006 by the Pope.

Benedict the XVI, the head of state, described as the "conscience of the world" by a correspondent of the Lebanese newspaper L'Orient Le Jour, declared that Islam is inseparable from violence. This presupposes that Christianity is not since it has been imbued with Greek rationality. The lecture aroused great indignation in the Muslim world and is the cause of an ongoing controversy.

Similarly, there must be a link between an openly expressed Islamophobia and the clear-cut opposition to Turkey's entry into the European Union in the name of Judeo-Christianity. These are but two good examples of how instinctive reactions against Islam are endorsed at the highest religious and political level. The appalling consequences of Islamophobia are visible in the creation of "ghettos" in some suburbs of Europe and the open or latent discrimination against fully-fledged naturalized citizens looking for work or lodgings. In short, this type of exclusion forces those concerned to live in close proximity. This very fact is used as evidence of the lack of feasibility of a social integration policy, which leads to a vicious cycle that the few advocates of a multicultural society seem unable or unwilling to break.

When all is said and done, Western countries' strong prejudice in favour of Israel stems from three reasons. The first and probably most fundamental is the perpetual feeling of guilt associated with the holocaust. The second reason is related to "Christian Zionism", which is specific to the US. American policy is influenced, as always, by religion when it comes to the Middle East. The last is generated by a perception from time immemorial that the Muslim world is a source of danger internationally and a cause of potential destabilization at the national level. Against this background, Israel is seen as a close partner that shares common values and common threats. In other words, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. For Muslims in general and the Arabs in particular, this old saying is fraught with danger.

The Muslim perception: the West is not rejected for what it is but for what it does By all accounts this is indeed the opinion of the people often referred to as "the street" by some western opinionshapers who want to send the subliminal message of huge and unruly crowds. It is also the stance of all governments, including those bound to comply with realpolitik requirements. Israel's impunity is of great concern to the Muslim world because it implies a green light for further repression. Actually, the prevailing opinion is that Israel and the Western countries are equally responsible for the present stalemate. Put in a historical perspective, the West's passivity is considered an extension of a series of aggressions against Muslims since the Middle-Ages. This long list begins with the Catholic inspired massacres during the first crusade and the relentless re-conquest and eradication of Muslim territory in Spain by Isabel the Catholic and Gimenez.

Other telling examples are the wars of colonial conquest and occupation by some European countries, or the largescale bombing in Afghanistan and its extensive collateral damage. One has also to keep in mind the terrible suppression of the independence movement in Chechnya, and the mass murder in Lebanon masterminded by a "butcher" later appointed prime minister. In addition, we have to mention the double-speak of the former occupying power and its proxy in Western Sahara. However, the most burning issue for the Muslim world is certainly the ongoing crime against humanity in Palestine, which has been occupied for more than sixty years. Obviously this continuous occupation is a part of the "greater Israel" strategy claimed or suggested by all the Israeli governments from the inception of the Jewish State. In addition, there is the insidious propaganda war waged by Israel and it's apologists to excuse and cover up Israeli excesses under the pretext of a war against terrorism.

The "rage and frustration" allegedly branded into the Muslim psyche by the apparent loss of global influence to the advantage of Western civilization is simply not the case. Rather, this real anger is the result of the everlasting, brutal, arrogant and ruthless behaviour of the West. As farfetched as it may seem, the latter explanation has some implications. One, the West wishes to portray itself in a good light. Two, the intention of the West is to disguise its various crimes. Three, the objective of the West is to claim that it is rejected for what it is and not for what it does.

This gross falsification is the very foundation of the "clash of civilizations" (coined, for the record, by Bernard Lewis and not by Samuel Huntington as is often believed) that Western propaganda aims to make a self-fulfilling prophecy.

The West self-deception: the defence and promotion of universal values Muslims have nothing against the age of Enlightenment. What is at stake is the West's thirst for power, the haughty negation of its crimes during colonial times, its firm intention to expand its model on a global scale, its never-ending inclination to preach, its aggressive design to force the Moslems into democracy and religious reform and, last but not least, its alignment with Israel's colonial policy.

Western countries need to break with such behaviour if they really want to establish long-term and mutually beneficial relations with a region of critical strategic importance for the Muslim world. One confidence-building measure would be to accept responsibility for the past. To try to gain forgiveness for one's crimes is not to belittle one. Rather to repent is to increase one's stature, help placate the victims' sorrow and pave the way for a thorough reconciliation. The second would be a noninterventionist external policy. Democracy is not a universal panacea.

Things must follow their natural course, irrespective of any difficulty. Foreign meddling in this matter will have serious consequences. A third possible step would involve Muslim European nationals. Whatever feelings the West may have about Islam, it should, in its own best interest, interact with Muslim European nationals in an all-inclusive approach to pave the way for a much sought-after integration. On the other hand, the West should avoid any attempt to influence the adaptation of religion in the Islamic world. The overwhelming majority of Muslims observe their faith in a peaceful way. They reject extremists as well as would-be reformers. Muslims have to decide for themselves whether there is a need for reform, without external pressure. They could, if necessary, consult some of Islam's new thinkers. However, the litmus test pertains to the Palestinian question. All Muslims, especially the Arabs, cannot understand why the West is so emotional about the Jews' past suffering and so indifferent to the alarming plight of the Palestinians. The West, and particularly the US, should be committed to giving momentum to the peace process in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

It seems, however, that the time is not ripe for such a dramatic change. Since the collapse of Communism in 1989, the Western countries have been more assertive than ever. They still claim that the invasion and occupation of Iraq was justified, conveniently ignoring the evidence that there were no weapons of mass destruction in that country. They are sending significant reinforcements to Afghanistan. They will make no apology for their crimes and offer no compensation for the damage. They place extreme pressure on Iran to prevent the production of nuclear warheads while turning a blind eye to Israel's stockpile of atomic bombs. In other words, ignoring the lessons of history, the West adheres to power politics.

What is good for Israel is good for the West. The laissez faire policy

In contrast, the Western countries are neither willing nor able to adopt a stronger policy vis-à-vis Israel. In the Middle East conflict it is self-evident that the West feels closer ties to Israel for both historical and religious reasons. This is at the expense of Arabs who have embodied, since time immemorial, a threatening otherness. In addition, much like the proverbial "sorcerer's apprentice", the State that they have created is beyond their control and there is no stopping the momentum that is, and continues, to build up.

There is no denying that the Israelis feel free to do whatever they want. One of the activists of Peace Now gave the following opinion in 2007: "If you look at what Israel does rather than what it says, the conclusion is that Israel is not willing to accept a Palestinian State." The Jewish State's policy of fait accompli is a clear confirmation of his statement. The plain truth is that Israel occupies 40% of the Palestinian territory (as it was before 1967) including East Jerusalem. The settlement policy is ongoing. One should note that its short-lived freeze appears, with hindsight, to have been a confidence trick designed to focus attention on a so-called Israeli concession and divert global attention away from the settlement itself.

In any case, the creeping annexation of Palestinian territory is a clear indication of how the Jewish State continues towards its goal of a "greater Israel". Alternatively, the objective appears to be the occupation of the whole of Palestine and the concomitant expulsion of all Palestinians including those with Israeli nationality. Retrospectively one realizes why Israel and the Western countries endorsed the UN Security council resolution 242 under the condition that the English version be the sole reference. The English version of the resolution "conveniently" provides for the withdrawal of territories and not of the territories. It is an excellent ploy to facilitate further expansion as long as there is no solution. It is abundantly clear that there will be no settlement while the peace process is in permanent stasis. New blood within the Palestinian Authority: a mandate from the people to make peace with Israel The Palestinians find themselves caught between Israel's constant obstruction of the peace process and the persistent Western warning against any attempt to jeopardize its resumption. The Palestinian Authority has been trying to comply with these imperatives since the election of President Mahmoud Abbas.

The peace with Israel option was overwhelmingly endorsed in August 2009 by the Fatah 6th Congress. There is a new generation of leaders; honest, educated and born in the Gaza Strip or the West Bank. Furthermore, they are democratically elected and trusted by the people. The head of government is a graduate from Texas University and was the IMF permanent representative in Gaza and Ramallah. He is a native son. Under his leadership internal Fatah quarrels have been settled, corruption is being dealt with, the economy is improving and investments are on the rise. Last, but not least, order is being restored in cooperation with the Israeli security forces. Hamas militants are under continuous police harassment while their leaders are left alone with a view to bringing Fatah and Hamas together through negotiation.

In other words, the Israelis can no longer argue the Palestinian Authority's lack of credibility for continually delaying the peace process. They now have a valid negotiator of stature, fully mandated by a sizeable portion of the Palestinian people, to make peace with Israel. There are none so blind as those who will not see. Israel's ulterior motives: total annexation or mini state under control - in either case, genocide in Gaza.

Who still believes that the Palestinian plea will be taken into consideration? Firstly, the Israeli policy of slow, creeping expansion is working well. The routine violations weaken indignation, invoking less and less reaction to the establishment of each new colony. Secondly, the US and the European Union have adamantly rejected a recent Palestinian proposal to return to the UN framework. This rebuttal is a clear confirmation that even the English version of resolution 242 is deemed irrelevant, despite the fact that it has the backing of all the Arab countries. Lastly, Hamas has been blacklisted, leaving the Palestinians without the option of unifying to establish a stronger bargaining position. All the cards are on one side, and Israel will play them as it wishes as long as the West is neither willing nor able to intercede.

The wisest approach would be for Israel to build bridges and not walls between the two communities. Both communities know what suffering means, they are gifted, well-educated, hard-working and should work hand in hand towards the stability, development and integration of the whole region.

Unfortunately for all concerned, the heady allure of unbridled power will lead Israel to one of two alternatives. The worst scenario would be a complete annexation of the Palestinian territory. The other would leave a tiny Palestinian State with a capital other than East Jerusalem.

Nobody has the right to decide for the Palestinians if such a cynical proposal should be discussed, least of all the members of a "brotherhood" ready to dispense good advice but never ready for action. As for Gaza, the Israeli approach is quite clear: Hamas must be wiped out; and since its popular support is obvious, then the people behind it should also be wiped out. These are the seeds for yet another crime against humanity. Once again a wall is being financed by the West at the initiative and under the control of the two nearest neighbours in the region. This wall will definitely curtail smuggling bare essentials to a population already under siege for nearly four years. The weapons of mass destruction in this instance are starvation and health care deprivation. Thousands of Gaza citizens, whose only mistake is their place of birth, will suffer and perish. Is this then the triumph of the Israelis and their Western friends? No, it is but the beginning of their woes, because from generation to generation, until the end of the time, revenge, written in all languages of the world, will be engraved in the Palestinian collective memory.

Let us compare the Almighty God in the Quran vs the God in the bible.

Almighty God in the Quran

2:255 (Yusuf Ali): Allah. There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory).

YUSUF ALI: (he is) the creator of the heavens and the earth: he has made for you pairs from among yourselves, and pairs among cattle: by this means does he multiply you: there is nothing whatever like unto him, and he is the one that hears and sees (all things).Surah 42:11

TAKRIF ALLAH

ALLAH DAN PENAARIFANNYA!

Kalimah "Allah" asalnya dari bahasa Arab, yg diseru-sebut sebagai nama Tuhan sebelum jahiliah lagi malah "Allah" itu sendiri diyakini kewujudan dan keesaanNya oleh bangsa Arab sebagai Tuhan Yang Maha Tinggi dan disembah sesuai dgn perutusan yg dibawa oleh Nabi Allah Ibrahim a.s.

Sayangnya, peredaran masa yg berlalu begitu lama dan panjang dari era Ibrahim a.s. hingga keera kerasulan Muhammad s.a.w. menyebabkan masyarakat Arab, yg mulanya menerima konsep keesaan Allah menurut millah Ibrahim a.s. itu, kiranya terdedah dgn unsur-unsur negatif dan penyelewengan, yg menyusur masuk kedalam tradisi dan kepercayaan bangsa Arab sehingga akidah mereka yg suci terjejas.

Penyelewengan kepercayaan dan akidah itu ketara ditahun Masehi 300 sesudah runtuhnya empangan Ma'arib diselatan Tanah Arabia, dan disinilah bermulanya era baru yg dikenali sebagai Zaman Jahiliah, suatu zaman begitu gelap bagi bangsa Arab, dimana pemujaan dewa-dewi dan berhala serta amalan animisma berleluasa apabila mereka meletakkan objek dan imej pelbagai bentuk-rupa untuk disembah bagi mendapatkan restu sbg amalan keagamaan, namun kalimah "Allah" tetap dibibir mereka dan sering digunakan sebagai kata sumpahan.

Demikian kalimah "Allah" bagi bangsa Arab, yg amat memahami maksud yg tersurat dan yg tersirat – baik golongan Arab Muslimin; Arab Musyrikin, Arab Kristian mahupun golongan Yahudi yg menghuni ditengah-tengah masyarakat Arab. Kalimah "Allah" begitu mudah dan jelas diucapkan dikalangan mereka kerana kalimah itu adalah kalimah yg terbit dari bahasa ibunda mereka sendiri. Akan tetapi, mereka yg diluar Arab, mendapati sukar menuturkannya dgn jelas, fasih dan tepat, dan bagi penganut-penganut agama Islam lainnya, sekalipun bukan keturunan Arab, ucapan kalimah "Allah" begitu mudah dipertutur dlm kehidupan seharian, kerana ia merupakan kalimah paling suci dan sering disebut berulangkali dlm solat dan dzikir.

Kalimah "Allah" adalah nama Tuhan bagi orang-orang Islam maka begitulah "Yahweh" (يهوه) bagi orang-orang Yahudi; Jesus atau Christ bagi orang-orang Kristian ataupun God dan Lord sementara tuhan atau dewa-dewi bagi agama lain seperti Budha, Hindu, Majusi, diberikan nama tertentu yg diguna pakai dlm penyembahan mereka.

Kalimah "Allah" itu begitu asing bagi mereka yg bukan Arab dan juga bukan Islam, menyebabkan terkelu lidah mereka utk menyebutnya, selain kaedah mengeja dan menulis kalimah itu, tidak mampu membunyikannya dgn tepat dan jelas maka itulah kalimah الله"" begitu eklusif kedudukannya dalam pertuturan dan sintaksis bahasa Arab.

Penaarifan ataupun definasi "Allah" dari sudut pemahaman makna dan maksud begitu berbeza sekali dgn pemahaman maksud "tuhan" yg dipercayai dan diamal oleh penganut-penganut agama luar Islam. Penaarifan dan definasi "Allah" disisi Islam begitu jelas iaitu berpaksikan tawhid atau kewujudan Allah Yg Maha Esa, yg zatNya dilitupi oleh أسماء الحسنى" " (Nama-Nama atau Sifat-Sifat Yg Mulia) sementara agama lain, mempercayai dan meletakkan imej, makhluk, benda ghaib, roh, binatang, bermacam makhluk dan kejadian alam sebagai tuhan utk disembah dan dipuja.

Apabila kalimah "Allah" itu desebut maka ia membawa pengertian Tuhan Yg Maha Esa; tidak berbilang; tidak bersekutu; tidak berbapa; tidak beribu; tidak beranak atau diperanakkan; tidak berpasangan; tidak bercucu, dan tidak bercicit; dlm erti kata lain, tidak menyerupai atau menyamai apajuapun makhluk, semangat, roh, batu, api, bulan, bintang dan sebagainya. Sehubungannya Allah berfirman هوالله أحد. الله الصمد. لم يلد و لم يولد. ولم يكن له كفؤا أحد" – الإخلاص 4-1 قل [Mfhm: "Katakanlah (wahai Muhammad), Dia adalah Allah Yg Maha Esa; Allah, yg bergantung kepadaNya segala sesuatu; Dia yg tidak beranak dan tidak pula diperanakkan; dan tiada sesuatupun yg setara denganNya"].

Apakah pengertian atau semantic kalimah "Allah" sedemikian ini diaku-terima oleh penganut agama lain lebih lagi oleh golongan Kristian yg hendak menggunakannya dlm risalah agama mereka? Mengapa harus digunakan kalimah "Allah" yg skrip jawinya الله"" kalau ianya tidak disebut atau tertulis didalam Injil? Mengapa baru sekarang ini kalimah "Allah" diperlukan? Untuk apa? Kewujudan Allah Yg Maha Esa, bukan akar-umbi kepercayaan Kristian; konsep ketuhanan mereka ialah "Trinity" – satu dlm tiga; dan tiga dlm satu; jadi mengapa mereka perlu menggunakannya sekalipun ianya bertentangan dgn kepercayaan mereka? Apakah mereka jujur? Sukar penafiannya jika dikatakan mereka menggunakannya sekadar mahu mengelirukan konsep keesaan Allah yg menjadi pegangan orang-orang Islam! Kemungkinan cakap-cakap pasar dlm dialog nanti bunyinya seakan begini; "Aِnda orang Islam percaya "Allah" sbg Tuhan maka kami pun begitu, percaya kpd "Allah"; dan "Allah" kami adalah Holy Spirit (Bapa)!".

Kalimah "Allah" yg tiada sekatan penggunaannya oleh agama lain akan lebih parah jadinya bilamana patung terbesar didunia misalnya, selain benda-benda dan pelbagai imej beraneka rupa yg lain akan juga dinamakan sbg "Allah" oleh mereka yg menyembahnya semata-mata utk mengeliru dan menarik minat orang Islam mendekati agama mereka masing-masing; apakah tiada kemungkinannya? نعو ذ بالله من ذلك !

Agama Islam bertapak dibumi Malaysia sejak kesultanan Melayu Melaka melalui Negri Trengganu ditahun 1303; yg diperkenal sejurus kemudian secara lebih meluas kpd orang-orang Melayu termasuk pembesar-pembesar Negeri oleh pedagang dari Gujarat, dan sebaliknya agama Kristian dibawa masuk dan diperkembangkan melalui kuasa penjajahan Portugis dari Eropah, yg meruntuhkan Kerajaan Melayu Melaka, sebuah Kerajaan Islam lalu menakluki dan memerintahnya bermula ditahun 1511.

Hakikat sejarah menunjukkan, perkembangan agama Kristian disokong-bantu oleh penjajah Portugis, yg diikuti kemudian oleh penjajahan orang Eropah lainnya iaitu Belanda dan British, yg mempermudah perjalanan agama Krtistian sampai menjadi selesa penyebarannya, dan nyata sekali Kristian itu sinonim dgn penjajahan Barat sbg mana berlaku di Benua Afrika maka itu, tiada halangan dan tiada galangan terupaya dilakukan dlm bentuk apajuapun untuk mengganggu perkembangan Kristian di Malaysia, yg berterusan hingga kehari ini.

Amat malang sekali, demi keghairahan menarik minat orang Islam kpd Kristian mereka sanggup mengurbankan kehadhiran agama yg harmonis perjalanannya sekian lama, dgn usaha yg siasia kebelakangan ini. Jika demokrasi diambil kira sebagai sistem pentadbiran bernegara maka penduduk majority Islam yg berjumlah 60.4 peratus itu lebih berhak mengambil sesuatu tindakan berbanding Kristian, yg merupakan golongan minoriti berjumlah hanya 9.1 peratus dari bilangan rakyat Malaysia seluruhnya. Apakah wajar suara minoriti membelenggu dan mengekang suara majoriti?

Adalah diharapkan agar kewajaran yg dihasilkan dari kesedaran dan tanggungjawab sosial demi kesuburan masyarakat dinamis dan harmonis, akan mengambil alih sikap tidak mensyukuri nikmat yg dimiliki selama ini, lalu dikhuatiri kerugian besar lagi berpanjangan jua yang akan dialami kelak! Menarik balik rayuan penggunaan kalimah "Allah" dlm penerbitan dan penggunaan oleh mereka yg bukan Islam, adalah satu-satunya cara terbaik demi memelihara hubungan dan interaksi yg menjana kerukunan dan kesejahteraan hidup pelbagai pihak di Malaysia saat ini! Penyebaran kristian atau sesuatu agama bukan Islam, tidak cacat tanpa penggunaan kalimah "Allah"!

BLASPHEMY MOST FOUL

In the days leading to the decision of the case brought by the Titular Roman Catholic Archbishop applying to use the word Allah in the Malay version of the bible, the Muslim community sat muted whilst being schooled by the non Muslims on their own religion. At the helm of this muted movement were politicians including their ulamas, political alliances and Muslim intellectuals who all agreed that it is permissible for the use of the word Allah in the Catholic weekly Herald publication.

The first effect that we shall see from the decision of the Kuala Lumpur High Court dated 31.12.2009 allowing the Church to use the word Allah in their Malay language publication is the birth of Allah’s son. From now onwards, the Christian God in this new publication shall be referred to as “Allah” and Jesus Christ as “Anak Allah”.

The Muslim calendar, ie the Maal Hijrah for the year 1431 shall be well remembered by all Malaysians as the year where the trinity of Allah accompanied by “Anak Allah” shall be celebrated in the books of the Christians in the mother tongue of the largely Malay muslim populace and marked by the lunar eclipse event. In Surah Al Ikhlas, verse 1-4, Allah says ‘ Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; 2. Allah, the Eternal, Absolute. 3. He begets not, nor is he begotten; 4. And there is none like unto Him.‘

For the unlettered and unschooled in Islam, verse 3 simply means that Allah “does not give birth”, nor is “Allah given birth to”. It is incumbent for all Muslims, both lettered and unlettered, to uphold the sanctity of the concept of monotheism in Islam and never to allow Allah to be portrayed as having the attributes of a human being, the ability to beget a Son of which the echelons of the political community using Islam as their brand name in Malaysia have so easily facilitated and consented.

Those responsible for allowing this event to take place shall have to answer in their graves and in the hereafter for committing the greatest of all sins, “shirk” or polytheism of the highest degree. No argument can justify the usage of “Allah” and “Anak Allah” in any kitab here; yet those in a position to prevent this occurrence has shamelessly come to the defence of The weekly Herald to teach us how to pray to our ONE GOD.

What is the rationale for using the word “Allah” in the Christian books and how does this promote racial integration or even “One Malaysia”? If anything, this event draws the divide between the races even more. It is a deep shame that we have to live with for the rest of our lives, losing a battle that need not have been fought at all. It is not the fault of the Titular Roman Catholic Archbishop that we lost our pride and identity, we are our own doing. The pride of our community today fell due to treachery by those who fought and won political battles using the name of Islam. In the Quran, Allah warns us most of all against people who sell their religion. Allah says in the Quran, “..do not sell my religion for a paltry sum..”. In this case before us, the situation involved is even worse, they sold their religion for free.
